CoHost has a robust set of offerings but lacked a site to showcase such. An update to the UX and UI was necessary.

Why?

The podcast services CoHost offers is one of the first of it’s kind when podcasting became popular. That being said, it’s UX and UI needed improvement as the company expanded it’s offerings.

Overview of project plan.

Where did I come in?

I pitched a redesign (branding, UX, and UI) to the site and organized a plan on how to execute.

How did I get started?

I reviewed and audited the site as it was, and also compared and contrasted against CoHost’s competitors to gather intel.

Review of existing UI and competitors sites.

How did I proceed?

In collaboration with the client, we collected a number of examples of UI we liked and additional functionality that could be integrated.

What was next?

Using the existing branding, I built a design system with some minor tweaks to help create brand consistency with a pop of colour.

4

Opportunities to subscribe to the newsletter to stay engaged.

5

More social proof before ending the page with a strong CTA.

What results am I hoping for?

With a more in-depth look at the UX and a stronger emphasis on branding within the UI, I’m hoping CoHost will reduce bounce rates and have an increase in conversions for booking demos.

What did I learn?

Webflow has a lot of capabilities that makes it seamless development from my Figma files.

  • Webflow allows for much more customization than other CMS. With the extra capabilities comes more troubleshooting. It was harder to find solutions to problems I was having in development.

  • Due to the nature of the project, I inherited the old CoHost which had a lot of legacy code. It was difficult to adjust the existing code, so I had to redo all of it from scratch.

  • I was surprised at how static the site felt before I added animations. I didn’t notice so much when designing in Figma.
